Hi all:
I am looking for the tab for "The Rainbow Connection", that sweet children's song by Paul Williams, made popular by Kermit the Frog on "The Muppet Movie". Can somebody help me with the tab for it?
Many thanks in advance,
Sergio

Sergio, I don't even have sheet music for this, but thanks for reminding me of that wonderful song. I think it would suit the mandolin just fine. I'll put it on my list of songs to figure out, if no one has tablature. Jazz singer/pianist Peter Cincotti does a great version of it on one of his albums. I saw Paul Williams in concert just a few years ago, and he sang it, which was a treat!

My son has loved that song since he heard it on Sesame Street (ten years ago). He's got Kermit's version on YouTube hidden in his bookmarks. If someone finds the tabs (mando or guitar) do let me know. He'd appreciate it.

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but hope that it helps.
Chords for rainbow connection (http://www.chordie.com/index.php?q=rainbow+connection&np=0&ps=10&wf=2221&s=RPD&wf=2221&wm=wrd&type=&sp=1&sy=1&cat=&ul=&np=0)
and a bit of useless information--
If I remember right, a good few years ago in Australia, a man broke into a radio station and took the DJ hostage for 24 hours. He made no demands other than the song Rainbow Connection be played over and over. Not sure what happened in the end.

Thanks B-Man! This is most helpful. I started working on the tab myself (I think it is best suited for the mandolin in the key of A, instead of the key of G of the original song).
About the radio station incident it happened in 1996 in New Zealand. Is is mentioned in Wikipedia, in the entry about the song. Here is the note from CNN World Fringe. (http://edition.cnn.com/WORLD/fringe/9603/03-27/index.html)
The song has been recorded by many great artists, but to my taste no version has the ingenuity and color of the original Kermit song (followed closely by the The Dixie Chicks' cover, pretty close to the original).

Thanks for the correct information on the “radio station” incident.
For my favorite version I would have to go with Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
As for the linked site, I do find it really good as you can transpose the chords and the tunings for different instruments.
Glad that it helped.

Sergio, I don't even have sheet music for this, but thanks for reminding me of that wonderful song.
I have the sheet music - it was in a Readers Digest collection of children's songs. PM me if you want to know more.
