I found this guy playing the Legend of Zelda theme on his mando on YouTube.

Anybody got TAB for this or other NES theme songs?

What a great video. Last night I spent some time working out how he plays the opening few chords. Since the comments on that video are all asking for tabs and he's saying he doesn't have the time, I think you're going to be hard pressed to get any - but I think listening to the sound and watching what he's doing will be adequate if you're willing to put in the time.

The chords used at the beginning are Am, G, F, E with some decoration in between. You can watch to see where dreadnought is fingering them. Even just playing that opening sequence twice is pretty awesome, got me all excited to learn the full thing :) I am already working on the Kotake and Koume theme from Ocarina of Time too. Ah, Zelda!

His name isn't "dreadnought". He's the mandolinist for the Dreanoughts

Apologies, that was the only thing resembling a name I could remember when I was watching the video last night.

No problem, but if you're into folk punk music, you should check them out.

I thought it was interesting that in the intro he's playing a full 4 inches or so above the "sweet spot"! :disbelief:
