My uncle and I used to play his songs at Christmas every year. I'd play mando.

He will be sorely missed. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Did he write or perform the theme for the TV show Green Acres?

I dont think so. But they had Eddie Albert starring and Arnold the pig, which might lead to the confusion.

When I was a kid, my mom loved Eddie Arnold. I thought he had died years ago. Smooth voice.

Easy Loving... so sexy lookin. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Yesterday, during our regular Thursday jam, my buddy asked "If you had to listen to only one singer, for the rest of your life, who would it be?" I quickly replied "Eddie Arnold"." Jan punched up "Make The World Go Away", on his jukebox, and while we were sitting there listening, his son (my buddy's) walked in and said "Hey, did you hear, Eddie Arnold just died?" Man, that was spooky!

IMO Mr. Arnold was one primo voice!

Wait! There IS some mando content to be mentioned concerning the great Mr. Arnold. He shows up in this deathless quatrain from Homer and Jethro's (and June Carter's)"Baby It's Cold Outside".Here 'tis:

JUNE: Maybe I'd better scurry.
H&J: Have a drink. What's your hurry?
JUNE: Maybe just a half a jug more.
H&J: Put some Eddy Arnold records on while I pour.

Hank Cochran has been cashing royalty checks on that song for a good long time.

Hey, I'd rather he cash those checks than the guy who "wrote" Tainted Love. I wish someone would make THAT song go away.
