It was either "Indian Nation" or "New Orleans" at the old-time jam last night. #Jimmy Triplett gave a workshop and concert here last week, so most of the old-time fiddlers have been working on some of his tunes.

Well, I'm on the road traveling on business (with no room to toss a mandolin in with all my other checked luggage) so it's been a few days... But seems like the last song I noodled with on the mandolin was "Flowers of Edinburgh!"

On the guitar: "I Am But a Stranger Here" Lutheran Hymn #660 - somewhat different melody however. . .
p.s., by song, do you mean tunes with words or just music played?

Brian Boru's March. On the banjo, because that's the first way it came to me, and I like the banjo because it's such a sturdy little "march" instrument. But it's prettier played on the mandolin with all the available harmonics.

False Hearted Lover on the guitar like Earl use to do it.
I had not heard this song since I last heard Earl do it with Flatt&Scruggs in late 60's and then I watched the Vol 6 of the old F&S TV show and he did it and I thought heck I can do that and with a flat pick instead of my banjo picks! Neat little song by the Carter Family.

Last song of the night Saturday at the Tiki Bar. "Sympathy for the Devil". Played it straight, but it actually can be played as a Bluegrass song also. Think about it......
Last complete song was "The More I Drink" by Blake Shelton (working on summertime party entertainment), but just before that I worked on CDB's "Devil Went Down to Georgia." Some of the long fretless slides he does on fiddle are a little tough to translate, but it's coming along.
