We've waited a long time for someone to figure out how to do this and Mike is doing a fantastic job on these buttons.
This set is made to fit Waverly tuners.

i have to say that i'm not sure if Mike is willing to make these if you call him. i had him make me a mando , these buttons came with it. so i asked him to make some for my other mando's, which he did. i posted these as a matter of interest. i know Mike is courteous and professional when you contact him. give it a try, it can't hurt.. I don't understand how he can make these for under about $100 a button. There's a LOT of work there. But I've seen them sell for about $300 a set.
It would be tempting to ask one of the Taiwan guys to have them made out of bone in Vietnam. They could probably do it for $30 a set.

Wow those have really gotten nicer since the first one. The first ones had circles as inlays with the wire part. Those look great.

You might end up with a set of these from Taiwan. I think they are butterflies but look more like bats.

For what it's worth, I'd rather pay an American what they are WORTH as opposed to keeping the Asians employed so that we can save money. That's why I stay away from Walmart.
Those are great tuner buttons, and Mike recently made a set for my F-4.

yeah i'd rather pay an american and i'm an aussie.. Mike does great work try one of his mandolins. they are pro quality at an affordable price. not low quality at an affordable price. 16 sides of fiddly work on these buttons, i think they are just great. Mike deserves to be recognized as his humble attitude hides his ability to create what i think is a great American instrument, buttons or otherwise.. coulda bought a gibson , coulda bought a flatiron ended up getting a Blohm. Montana made as well. plus they are rare so i consider my mando a bargain.

I think they are bats. They are considered auspicious in China. See here, (http://www.batcon.org/batsmag/v6n4-4.html) and here. (http://www.chinatoday.com.cn/English/20023/bat.htm)
As to the OP, I like them too!
