i have had my fern for 3 mos. and i have been satisfied so far. but the neck is 1 1/32" wide, my last mando was 1 1/8". i thought i would get used to it, but my hand still cramps up and it is harder for me to cross pick with the closer string spacing. when i drone on E on the A string and open E, my hand mutes the E string. I recently played another mando with a 1 1/8" neck that was radiused and it felt much more natural than my fern. the fern has great tone and a good action and setup, but i just cant get used to it. the fern is a substantial investment to me and i hate to try to sell and look for another mando. but if i cant get used to it, i'll have to do something. has anyone had this problem and does anyone have any advice?
