I was at my favorite diner the other night, and overheard a conversation at the table next to my booth.

Three young men were discussing something or other and my ears picked up when one of them asking how many strings on guitar, etc. One of the guys appeared to be "in the know", he had that casual superiority down, and he was answering all of the questions. One of them then asked him about the banjo. Didn't the banjo have double strings? "No," the sage replied, "you are thinking of the ummm... the ukulele, or... no, something else. Not the banjo."

What was this genius doing, deciding between zither, auto harp, ukulin, or tremoloa?

That's one of the reasons why the mandolin is the "up and coming" instruments in the years ahead. Better buy the best ones now as they can only go up when the masses catch up with those already in the know! Sort of like an IPO in the stock market. Stock ticker:MAS P/E 3 Beta:.01
Consensus: Strong Buy reccomendation. Preferred. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif
