Need help with my chop!

Well I need help with my chop. When I do this I get a little buzz. Before I do a chop I checke to see where my fingers are then I play each string to make sure there is no buzz. Every time I do this I do not hear anything it is clear as a bell, then when I chop it buzzes. What can I do to clear this up?

Are you hitting the strings harder when you chop compared to singling out the notes?

Yes mdln I do hit the strings harder when I chop than when I do one string at a time. Should I hit the strings the same way or what should I do?
