I knew the Stringdusters have a new disc coming soon so I went to their site and low and behold it's available for preorder. It comes out June 10th. I did the preorder and they throw in a free download of a live show from last month, sounds great. I'm looking forward to this one I've been a little disappointed by some other releases this year so I'm banking on a good one from the dusters. Here's the cover art.

It's about time. Love the band but was getting tired of their first album.

That live download is pretty good, although the crowd kinda chapped me. You can hear them talking over the band on a few songs; but that's Boulder I guess. Looking forward to the new disk.

Based on the songs I have heard from concert recording, this is going to be an awesome album - although not so much bluegrass...

I'm going to miss hearing Chris Eldridge. Listening to him in person with Punch Brothers and on the last album single handedly made me buy a dreadnought and get back into guitar.

I'll probably still get the album though, and see them later this summer when they come here!

Garnet,
If you have gotten back into guitar, you're going to love Andy Falco, the boy can flat out play!

I miss Chris a bit too, the whole Punch thing is a little self indulgent for me. Andy does a nice job but completely different from Chris.

Oh for sure! He's incredibly good as well. They are Very different styles though. Here's a video with both of them: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6s8Mmc69CP8

Now, if they were both in the band then maybe we'd have something truly special... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I think Falco fits the style of the band better. I was lucky enough to see his first concert with the band at Pagosa. Both Falco and Critter are outstanding guitarists but they sure have their own styles. I think Critter sounds good with the PBros.

Critter is a much more angular flatpicker than...pretty much all of them..a refreshing style
