I just need to sequence very easy stuff with no need to edit anything. Does anyone know a freeware sequencer?

perhaps it's just me, but what exactly do you mean by "sequencer"?

Computer software that will accept MIDI input. It's like a multi-track recorder but with MIDI data instead of audio.

Thanks, Bob. I hadn't a clue what he was looking for. In general, when looking for free ware I google the heck out of it with different combinations...

Yea, just do a search. There should be plenty available.

I haven't tried any freeware, but you can pick up old versions of Cubasis on Ebay for small sums.

Most all of the major mutitrack/sequencer sofware companies such as Cubase, ProTools, etc. have a free version with limited functionality. Not a demo version, just limited tracks, etc. I expect they barely work for audio multitracking since they rely on whatever hardware is in your computer and don''t have a dedicated device that should come with the program, but I bet the sequencing works just fine. It would be nice to work on the software you may eventually upgrade to as well.

I have Cubase but umm. . . not officially. So I can't use it at school. I will both Google and check out the pay programs for free demos. Thanks http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

A lot of times those free demos don't let you save though. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

The "demos" I am refering to are not true semi functional demos, but rather very stripped down but fully functional versions. The ProTools one was called ProTools Free as I recall.

I did a Google and found one. . . now I just gotta install it. I hate that they all talk about how many functions they have! I only need two functions: record and save! Haha.

Little late on the replay, but in case anybody else is looking for freeware music programs I ran acrossed a good list. There are a handful of Sequencers.
