I need a short piece of fretboard binding for a newer Gibson. I looked at stewmac but didn't see it. It seems to be a pretty standard size since I see it on nearly every mandolin I own. Anyway I just need an inch and a half, where do I go?

I don't think it would be listed as fingerboard binding anywhere. The dimensions are usually what's given, measure your existing binding to find out. If you need celluloid binding, you will be charged a $20 hazardous materials fee no matter how much you buy. Most places wouldn't sell it to you by the inch anyhow, though Bill James might. But seeing as you may end up paying close to $30 total, you may want to call up a couple local guitar repair places and ask if they have any lying around, or put an add in the classifieds.
