I have only heard this song by Chris Thile on a Woodsongs Radio Hour show. Does anyone have music for it before I go off and work it up for myself?

Thanks,
Chip

On his "Deceiver" CD is one he wrote called "Waltz For Dewayne Pomeroy" could be the same. I fooled around with it a little a year ago.
Key of C maybe? I'd be interested in what you come up with.

Yeah I think that's the same tune Dave. A Google search showed only some bogus "Country Tabs" site had a tab for it that I couldn't manage to log on to. I have the first part of it transcribed alredy, but any help will still be appreciated.

It's in Em. Do you read Standard Notation? That'a what I have it in on my computer.
I have a PDF of it if you want it.
PM me if so.

Stephanie, I sent a PM. #I do read standard notation, but this song is a perfect example of when Tab can be really helpful. The fingerings are crazy, spread all over the neck, and there will be some effort to figure out how best to make it work. #It's still a huge help though! I've been transcibing it myself from the Woodsongs video, and much of the time you can see his fingering on the neck.

Thanks,
Chip

As a side sad note, I believe this song was written about a Seattle street kid Dewayne Pomeroy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1291901/bio) who commited suicide during the filming of a 1984 documentary about kids who live in the streets called Streetwise (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088196/).

I've watched it and it's really stark and upsetting. It's available in its entirety here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h-scpQ_szM) on YouTube in ten 9-or-10-minute parts.

After watching the video, the Lament would have made more sense than Waltz, I wonder why he changed the name. Sad story. Beautiful instrumental.

Go to my site, I have it in standard notation (unfortunately it's not the easiest to read... sorry)
