i'm visiting family here and have a mando with me. any jams, parties or other type of thing. i know the mandolin festival thing is this weekend. is that worth attending?

Tom Rozum & Laurie Lewis are playing at the festival. The rest is mostly Mandolin Orchestras. Could be some jammin' there.

Brad, there's a good Irish tune/song session at the Starry Plough in Berkeley (just up the street from the Ashby BART station) on Sunday night from 8-11. (My usual Sunday night hangout.)#

I haven't been to the Mandolin Festival itself (there were a couple of spin-offs last year I went to), so I can't comment.
I don't know about events in Marin this weekend.
