Just a heads up for anyone looking for a good deal on a GREAT mandolin. I've owned one of these for nearly 2 yrs - love it! Certainly not a candidate for my "only" mandolin . . . but as a 2nd (or 3rd, 4th, . . . ) mandolin, it's a lot of fun.

Nice discount off new price. Since National's intro of these at NAAM (in 2005?), these come up for discussion here fairly often. To get one in Ex condition at a fair discount . . . just thought someone here might like to know.

No Financial Interest, of course.

Here's a link. (http://www.elderly.com/vintage/items/90U-5023.htm)

Heard nothing but good things about the new Nationals. I like my '30's Triolian, but I bet the new ones are better made.

I just received one a couple weeks ago; used, listed in the classified here. I couldn't be more pleased. They're really handsomely designed, well made, play great and sound...well similar to the old originals but not so abrasive. I agree with the second or third comment.

If you're considering one, this is a good deal on a cool instrument. NFI.
