Hi! The only information I have about this Mandolin is that the original (and current) owner bought it new in NYC in 1940. I really have no other info about it. I'm about to buy it but I don't know anything about it, and I would like to know the approximate value of the instrument, the make (it looks a bit like a Martin but probably isn't one).

If you were in my situation, what would you pay for this? I've never seen it in person but I know the seller personally and he says its in excellent condition, as you can see in the pictures.

Any help/info appreciated!

Thanks,
Joey

Ohh one more thing. The original owner paid $37 for it in 1940.

It looks like a Harmony or Regal student mandolin with a faux( painted wood grain ) finish. Not much in value, but a good starter mandolin. A fair price for something like taht wood be $50.00-$75.00 http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I thought it looked like an old Harmony too probably a cheaply made instrument if not a Harmony or Regal.
