I'm guessing there are a lot of Mandolin pickers out there who also happen to be college Basketball fans. Who do you like in the final 4 and why?
I live about 25 miles down the road from Lawrence, Kansas (Mando center of the universe) and home of the Kansas Jayhawks. We've been season ticket holders for the past four years and it's all ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK GO KU from my view.
Kansas does not have a superstar player but they have perhaps the best collection of players who are extremely athletic. They can run, play the half court game and defend. Great players coming off a very deep bench. I like them as underdogs in the tournament.
What do you say?

I'm a Tarheel born, and a Tarheel bred, and when I die, I'll be a Tarheel dead. Gotta love Roy Williams. Good luck to Kansas. It's all good...since Duke is out of it.

Sense the Hogs are gone I'm pulling for the TAR HEELS. They are diffinently on a roll and look unstopable.

I have been hoping for the past 50 years ( Yes ....... I'm OLD! ) for a low seed to win the whole thing. I thought maybe Davidson was my dream come true this year and rooted for them. I have no idea where Davidson is located, but I still rooted my heart out. Now it's down to four #1 seeds ........... Ho, Hum.

A Davidson Wildcat here. #When I was there, UNC brought Worthey, Perkins, and Jordan to the Davidson gym. #That did not go so well for us. #Not sure that even Stephen Curry could of changed that outcome. #Anyway, with Davidson out, I am a KU fan as Winfield is in Kansas and my granny was a cheerleader at KU in the 30s. # #ROCK CHALK!!!!!!!!

This is the first cafe thread in which I found nothing I wanted to read. #I didn't think that would ever happen. #Ya'll have fun though, and be tolerant of me whenever I post something dumb. #Oh by the way, I'm a Tulane fan. Think this is sour grapes or what?

Another Davidson Wildcat here (Kentucky, too, 'cause that's where I grew up). But since Kansas knocked us out of the tourney (and since my brother is getting ready to move there), I'm pulling for them.

Another Tar Heel born and bread and thanking God I ain't dead yet (came awful close last night but that's a different story for a different thread). Go Heels!
I'm a Davidson fan also, old enough to remember when Lefty Drisell was coaching there. Gotta love ol' Lefty!

Knowing Scott was a big KU fan, I was waitng for the NCAA thread to appear. I'm suprised it took so long. Currently I'm watching UNC vs KU. After spending time in Nashville this year I was a Vandy fan, now transferred to Memphis, but KU is still closest to my home, and in support of Scott, "Rock Shock Jayhawk"!! Dan
I'm a KU grad. My daughter is in her senior year there. Rock Chalk Jayhawk, KU!!!!

I was a little worried for a couple of minutes there, but they got it back together. (Not as mandolin practice tonight as normal -- had to watch the crimson and blue.)

well being from ky, I pulled for Kansas, because we dont like nc. even though I had picked nc to win it all, I still pulled for kansas. but now that is over, "GO MEMPHIS" NOW isn't this fun.
Congratulations to Kansas and Memphis. It was surreal to watch my Heels get beat so thoroughly by a much better team, but they sure did. Go Kansas.

Great games last night. Never thought the Jayhawks would handle the Tar Heels like they did but KU played a great game and now it's on the the championship game.
Downtown Lawrence (Mass Street) was totally insane last night with people celebrating the win. The Police estimated the crowd to be around 25,000. Young and old alike were really whooping it up.
Now on to the the national championship. Memphis is a great team and will be a tough match up.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk Go KU!!

Congrats to you, Scott.
Even though I'm not a huge fan of college basketball, the 3-point shot at the end of the 2nd period left me breathless.
My teams haven't won anything in my lifetime. Hopefully that will change someday. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

What an exciting game! I thought it was curtains for the Jayhawks at 2:00 left in the game and 9 points down. Missed free throws + great plays got them back in the game and then Mario Chalmers 3 point shot sends the game into OT. Momentum swung big time at that moment and the Jayhawks go on to win the national championship! ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!
I was down there at Mass Street with the celebration but I did not see Scott there http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif He must have been obscured by the 25,000 fans in attendance.
