What can I say, other than I've been Punched? #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
For the last week or so I've been working on a piece for two violins and one mandolin (me!). Using Logic Studio's Piano Roll editor and a midi keyboard I was able to put something together I'm not completely embarrassed about.

Sheet music here (courtesy of Logic - what a sweet program...): http://www-personal.umich.edu/~garnetb/allparts.pdf
Hopefully hopefully hopefully I'll be able to get my two violin playing friends together to record it later this week, maybe even tomorrow. I probably will record my mandolin part over that, as I can't read music so I need to memorize my part. Kind of embarrassing...I mean, I wrote the thing! Oh well, #my friend's can't improvise so I guess we're all even in the end. #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Apologize for the sort of corny synth noises that make up the violin parts in the mp3, I just wanted something with sustain. The mandolin part is the grand piano instrument, which I thought worked pretty well.
The song is fairly short, only 1:32. It ends somewhat abruptly...but I'm thinking I might let the violin fade almost all the way out and then begin a guitar strumming pattern or something and write some lyrics, making this thing an introduction of sorts. What do you guys think?
