I just joined here and just started the mando. I can not read music. Is there a good book that can help me out there? Because I think tabs are only out there for some of the things that I would like to learn ( bluegrass, irish tunes, fiddle tunes, ect...)

I would suggest getting Steve Kaufman's 4-hour Bluegrass Workout. The tunes appear in both Standard Notation and Tab (in case you need to verify what you're playing). It also comes w/ 4 CD's that play the songs so you can practice. Not too mention the fact that you'll be learning good Bluegrass tunes that will come in handy the next time you're at a jam!! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I used those three about 18 months ago when I was a total beginner at both mandolin and reading music. #I highly recommend the combination. #I found the different approaches worked well. #When something confused me in one, the other would usually explain from a different perspective that made sense.
