the song opens with a little mandolin tremolo on a couple of chords but I'm just not good enough to figure them out. still a beginner. can somebody give me a clue on what's being played there - and that little lick that kicks off her singing?

This one is kind of hard to get because the mando is not that clear in the mix. Here's what I get:
The first and second chords are C which I am hearing as x233, with a quick 5th fret on the E string, and back off to the third; the third chord is Fadd9 x333. again add the 5th fret and back to the third on the E string; the single note (with tremolo) lick goes 2nd string: 0-2-3(trem)-3rd string: [7 Slide to 9 PLUS 2nd string 5]-3 Vocals start here, after that C note (second string, 3rd fret.) It's hard to write out like this, but I am the world's slowest tab writer, so I hope this helps.
