I have a KY - km-380s that I have been banging on for about six months now. I'm still very green at pickin', however I have improved enough to start finding problems with this little mando. I just got her back from a great shop in Nashville and had a new ebony bridge put on, a good set-up done and man what a difference! I would encourage anyone who has a lower-end mando and wants to upgrade but can't afford to drop a chunk o'change to investigate this. option.

Anyone else have a story of success? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I just got my Morgan Monroe "Phantom Of The Opry" today and was thinking of starting this very thread! I've heard of a lot of folks upgrading to new bridges, not that anything seems to be wrong with mine but I did read one review of the same mando and the person said it made a world of a difference. Any suggestions for a dark loud sound? Specific makers?

I don't know what make of bridge tnpathfinder used, but I upgraded the bridge on my Washburn M3-SW to a Cumberland Acoustic ebony bridge ($40 from Elderly) and am very happy with that. A much less muddy tone and better volume.

I was told it was a Gibson bridge.
