Hi all,

Has anyone heard from Bob at Jade mandolins in the last 3 weeks or so?

I've been looking into something with him, but email responses seem to have dried up. Anyone know if everything's ok with him?

Think he's really busy. I had an email earlier this week I need to answer.

Thanks Steve.

That's cool. If he's busy I'll just wait until the load eases. Just wanted to make sure all was ok.

Hi to all! I am alive and well. I have had some computer/internet problems but, as for now, I am back in communication with the world. I will be postiing some photos soon and giving you an update on Jade Mandolins.

Here are a couple of photos of some new Jades that have just been completed and are sold. I shipped one to BC Canada today that I think is the best mandolin we have made....so far. I hated to see it go! The reports I have been getting from Jade owners has been positive. Owners tell me they are loud and sound good. We keep working on the little things and each time we make a batch there are improvements. These last ten are the last of the initial prototypes. The next twelve will be production models.
There is a sample oval F and A sitting on the bench now. We are about to start on a black walnut body/neck F and a Cherry F too. These will have wide grain Sitka tops. The walnut and cherry will have a different fingerboard inlay and will have a simple headstock inlay. The hardware will be gold and they will receive a natural finish.
Thanks again for your support.

Bob,

Those look really great. It almost makes me wish that I had waited before I bought #4. By the way it continues to sound better and better as I play it. Put a new set of strings on a couple of weeks ago and it made it sound even better.

You answered a thread that was over a year old. I asked this a month or so ago, has anyone even heard from Bob lately?
