Dear Friends,

I am going to be trying something a little new this weekend. I have set up an RSS feed on my blog to show up-to-the minute updates from the Argyle, TX bluegrass festival. I will be updating with show reviews, setlists, jam happenings and anything interesting that I come across.

I will be using a program called jott (check out jott.com) to do this. It will be very easy because I simply call a number on my cell, speak the update, and jott transcribes it and posts it to the blog.

It should be fun, at least for me. I know everybody has much more important things to do than sit around waiting for updates on a bluegrass festival in Texas, but whatever.

I will have email access at the festival, and can check blog comments, so please feel free to shoot me a line, or a song request, or to say hello to someone, or anything else!

Rekx...Out!

Rekx (and Stanley if you're reading this),
It doesn't look I'm going to make it out this weekend, but I hope y'all have a great time. I'm very jealous. See you at the next Charley's or SWBGC jam!

Lot of stuff going on, need to be in 3 or 2 places at the same time. I have seen a lot of old friends and made some new ones too. More today.
Daniel, again speedy recovery. Deroy., wondered if you were here. Old Sarge, where are you? Kent?

Well I got a first hand account this morning from a friend who I was supposed to have gone with before my misfortunes. He said it was great by the way and told me that he got to teach the banjo workshop with cia cherryholmes when she asked him earlier in the day to help. Thats kinda cool. Ms hull got a good review as did all the bands pretty much. So overall it sounded like a great festival

I was there and had a great time. My wife is now a big Dailey and Vincent fan. Gary Penney from The Blue River Band introduced me to quite a few of his friends. Very friendly group of folks at a great event. And the food concessions were good. Only sour note of the weekend was the fact I didn't win the Martin guitar raffle. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Sarge, Neither did I. Crossed paths with Gary several times,so I hope we meet down the line. You are more than welcome at the SWBC club meetings.

And the guy who won the Martin only bought one ticket. That's a pretty good return for 5 bucks.
