I have a student who's potentially interested in a Bulldog but I know nothing about them. There's a lot of stuff you rarely see in Canada. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Check out the site, http://bulldog-instruments.com. (http://bulldog-instruments.com) I met a guy who was playing one, and it had nice full tone with good volume and projection. Although I only have limited experience with them, they are well priced, quality hand-made instruments in my opinion.

I've got one and I love it. It sounds really nice across a whole range of styles.
When I got it the mandolin had a lot of finish checking. (This was not too surprising since I knew that it spent time in Alaska and North Carolina) I sent it back to Barry who did a great job with the refinishing work.
