I made a little recording of this tune in a medley with "Two Wide Nickels" (not the original title) about 25 years ago on a little cassette-only release of mando and guitar instrumentals called Guitarfish & Mandolin. That particular recording is long out of print, but the tunes are still pretty good. I think my source for "Three Thin Dimes" was fiddler Armin Barnett up in Seattle. I'm afraid I can't remember his specific source, but I'll dig into it. I suspect it was some fiddlers from Ohio.

The Hutchison Brothers recorded it, as did Arm & Hammer String Band, and the Boiled Buzzards, whose version features old-time harmonica. It's a lot of fun to play.

My mandolin setting was recently transcribed by Steve Parker in his dandy little collection 150 Hot Tunes for Fiddle and Mandolin (http://www.elderly.com/books/items/686-2.htm).

It is also transcribed in the Phillips Collections of Traditional American Fiddle Tunes. (http://www.janetdavismusic.com/phillips_fid.html)

I tabbed it out in TablEdit a while back after hearing it at an Old time jam. If I can find it I will post it here.
