Keith ... if you want to play Bully of the Town in D (and you can read tablature), just take the TablEdit file (in G) from the above MandoZine link & move all the notes over (up) one set of strings, same frets, same fingering (eg G strings notes over to D strings, D>A, A>E) ... the only measures that won't transpose as easily are measures 35 & 36 - for these you can just move up the neck, on the E strings, as far as the 12th fret (if you need help, use your ears to find the notes)
A quick transposing trick on the mandolin: Almost anything played on mando in Key of G can simply be moved over one set of strings to be in the Key of D, using the same frets & fingering as you would use on the original strings (also some tunes from A to D, or D to A, tho, this may not be possible with lots of notes originallly played on the G or E strings, without changing finger patterns)
