Somebody please gimme the latest on Monroe's Mandolin and the Hall Of Fame.
I know that Monroe's Mandolin and Mother Mabelle's guitar were facing an unknown future because of bad business practices on the part of that fella that passed away, but that's all I know.
What's happened lately?

That certainly puts a much better face on what actually happened http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
The last article I saw regarding this is here (http://dnj.midsouthnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080103/BUSINESS/801030318/1088).

From the article: Investors typically said they never saw statements that listed where their money was invested. Instead, they gave McLean loans to invest as he saw fit. His body was found with a bullet wound behind a Shelbyville church last fall. A coroner has concluded the death was a suicide, according to the Shelbyville detective handling the case.
Some of his creditors also are banks, utilities and — in the case of the Hall of Fame and MTSU — organizations that were pledged millions of dollars by McLean, Waldschmidt said.
Thans for the update.
Certainly a sad situation. I hope they take care of the individual investors first however. #
It idea that a charitable organization is "owed" the remainder of an unfullfilled PLEDGE from a deceased persons estate is (in my mind) a tad obscene -- even in if it is the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Next thing politicians will be sueing you for your campaign pledges!
What we really need are a few more lawyers running around.

Basically the issue that will be addressed is whether or not the instruments, because the funds used to procure them may have been illegally generated, will be liquidated to satisfy those seeking restitution from McLean's Ponzi schemes.

and this will take many, many years in the court system making at least 2 lawyers very, very rich in the process.
I heard since John Edwards dropped out of the Dem. race he was looking into taking on this case for all the poor investors that lost everything in this deal. I wonder if James Monroe is going to get involved again in it.

James Monroe probably gave McLean some of the money he siphoned off from daddy; maybe this is how he will get #73987 back. Then sell it to some Japanese investor!

What's the deal with James Monroe, he doesn't seem to be held in the highest esteem?
