Bridge set up

I've noticed on one of my mandolins that the bridge leans back towards the tailpiece slightly.The feet of the bridge conform to the top perfectly but appear to have been shaped in such a way as to cause this leaning.Can this affect the sound of the instrument?

Some builder fit them that way. Do you not like the sound of the instrument?
