Ive only been playing in bands about 4 years and have been in Blue River Music Assc band, Hare Raisors country band, Old Tymes String band, Almost Bluegrass and Christs Servants Gospel Band. I have been fortunate to play in several bands over the years. Cabin Creek (country), Harvest Pickers (bluegrass), Lee's Station (bluegrass), Cornerstone (bluegrass/gospel), Springstreet (bluegrass), Heartland (country).

can't believe how hard it is to find an available guitarist in his 20s.

I know what you mean. There a million guitar players out there and i don't know one who can play a strong rhythm, sing lead and harmony vocals, and flatpick some decent leads. I know a bunch of great people who can do some of the above, but if they can flatpick they can't play rhythm, if they can sing they can't sing harmony, etc.

One thing I'm learning right now is that it's rough getting in a group with a really nice guy and good guitar player who can't sing. I play for fun in Mighty Fine, but we've been trying to establish solid harmonies for three years, and our guitar player can't get it.

Currently, the WoodBees (electric pop and boomer classics). Before that: Rag, Dawg & Slick (BG) Spruce Street (BG), Three Penny Bit (Irish-ish) Willow Moon (originals, granola music), Timber Creek (country/folk and originals) Was "friend" in lots of "So-and-so and Friends" bands and lots of bands that barely lasted a couple of gigs.
