Anybody play this?

I recently picked up a copy of Glamour and Grits (mainly for Brilliancy), but this leadoff tune has really crawled under my skin. #I'm having fun with it, but the high part just before the middle section (in 6/8 time) is giving me some trouble. #I love the melody and the changes, though.

Stingray is pretty cool, too, especially once he gets to the meat of the song. #I wonder what it's like to be able to do THAT?

I say that to just about everything I hear. Im not sure this mandolin thing is for me...if it wasn't so fun I'd have quit already. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

FYI

Sam covers both tunes in depth on his latest instructional DVD.

Cool - it'd be interesting to check that out and see where I'm straying.

Sam doesn't give tabs for the high part in the video. It plays over Gm, Eb, and F.
All the blue notes. Sounds like a song; "Way up high, then down in the middle, playing on the bottom, then using open strings. Play it on the bottom, then mix a few natural notes, and then stop". Repeat.
I get lost on the open strings.
