I just changed the battery. Now when I turn it on it goes directly to learn mode and I can not get out of it and switch to 440. All 3 items are displayed upon startup but only the learn stays displayed and highlited. When in the learn mode, it starts on "A" and the arrows occasional blink. The select button does nothing. Pressing the mode button increases to "A#, B, C, C# ...etc. If I quickly press the "select" when tuning it on, it goes thru the test that the manual says it should. I did email them but, any suggestions will be appreciated.

How about a nine-pound hammer to the lcd screen?

Did you check to see if you put the batteries in correctly i.e. positive and negative in the right place?

Of course. 3 times. Over the last year, my orig door broke,
then the next one fell and never turned on again. I do not want to buy 3 in 1 year.

It now works. I took out batteries a 4th time. Yes, they were in correctly and even reversed them on purpose to make sure I'm not crazy. I made sure the prongs were sticking up under the cap and battery. I put the batteries back in and it works.

Don't use energizer batteries in an Intellitouch. This advice came from the factory. Don't know what the difference is.

last week during a gig mine did the same thing and it was like I had them reversed the first time and it shorted it or something. Once I put them in reversed and the right way again, it started working. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
