I wonder if any of the tab posters (Ladd, Flenday, ect) would take the time to transcribe into tab the La Rondo Turk, a classical piece by A.W. Mozart. It is also known as " The Turkish March"..I found the tab to guitar but would like to incorporate the mandolin as did Johnny Stats on Wound for Sound CD in a piece he's calls Memories of Mozart. of course I don't think I will be playing that fast. Dan Crary has guitar tab out on the song but I haven't clue how to get on to Mandolin. I would be most grateful for any help in this area. Thanks in Advance, JZ, Bigfork, MT

Back in Jan 2006, to celebrate Mozart's 250 BD, I learned, & transcribed for mandolin, Rondo Alla Turca, (aka Turkish March), the 3rd movement in Mozart's Piano Sonata in A (K.331) ... I posted the mando "tab" to MandolinCafe, as I was on a public computer that couldn't handle attaching a tef, pdf or jpg file ... I realized after the fact, that of all places to post tab (vs notation), the classical section was not the best choice ;^)

Here is the link to that tab ...

I have just submitted 2 tef files to MandoZine for a short version (27 measures) & the complete 10-part version (137 measures) ... check this MandoZine Mozart tef files (http://www.mandozine.com/music/search_results.php?searchfor&artist=mozart) link in the next few days to see if they have been posted yet ...

Hoping to avoid any notation-vs-tab problems, I am attaching a 1 page pdf file of the short version, with the combination of both the notation/tab ...

Keepin' tuned ...

Hey Windy
Thanks for the tab, just found it today. That Rondo Alla Turca is fun to play. I'm really more of a bluegrass/old time picker. My wife plays about 99% all classical piano (and is really good). When she caught some of my pickin of that tune ... she thought it was pretty cool. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thanks, Wendy for the post of the Turkish March. It loaded and plays in the Tabedit program which makes learning the piece a lot easier. I already can play it on the guitar so I'm looking forward to moving it to mandolin. Thanks again for the quick response to my request. GBY always...JZ, Bigfork, MT
