I can't tell if you're trying to be funny or trolling... I went to your webpage and it looks like your like the mando enough to build some nice things. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt... If size makes an instrument more real try one of these... then you can really blow your own horn!

Yea, Sal-a-mander
You should probably give that mandolin away and stay with a real instrument.

I think this is somebody leaving their computer unattended and logged in -- Sal Mando's other posts to date are rather more sensible than the troll that started this thread, and more to the point suggest a somewhat longer and deeper familiarity with the mandolin.

OK guys---I had to remove that opening for the thread. It was definitely a misguided attempt at humor under the influence of my friend who has the initials of JD. I thought it would be a silly thread that would go to the graveyard in a few days but it just kept popping up! I won't do that one again. The mandolin is an incredible instrument and I spend more time on it than my "real" guitar. Sorry

No the opening post in the thread was meant to be funny but didn't translate well... It has since been deleted and the remnants are like a conversation at a lunatic asylum. Nothing to see here, move along. Move along.

OK guys---I had to remove that opening for the thread...
...which in turn made Jay's post look like the opening -- and a totally wierd opening at that. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

<which in turn made Jay's post look like the opening -- and a totally wierd opening at that.>
It's now the ideal opening to this thread, which reads like some kind of stream-of-consciousness poem. I actually found it pretty funny.

Oops, probly too big. #Let's try again. Underwater, no one can hear you scream (but your vocal cords get a soothing brine bath).
