After playing many instruments I've discovered that I really like the sound of my little y2k. It has all the original hardware. I was wondering if changing the original bridge and tail piece would give me increased volume and improve playablility? Open to any opinions and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

If you don't have a good bridge a better bridge might be an improvement, but if, as you say you really like the sound, why change anything?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it ... so to speak.

Yeah, why change the sound if you already love it...plus I'm not sure you got too many options for a bridge replacement for a flattop.

If you are not already using them, you might try the T-I strings. I don't like them for everything, but for oval hole flat-tops, for solo and "quiet" small group playing, they really sound sweet. If you need more punch than what the T-I's provide, with some of the same characteristics, I have heard that the D'Addario Flat-tops are also great on oval flat-tops, but those I haven't tried yet.

Thanks for the info on the strings, ill look into some of those made more specifically for this type of instrument.
