Had the opportunity to attend the Roland White Bluegrass Mandolin workshop, that Jim Richter at put together. #A great workshop and a couple of decent jams with Roland White. #An all around nice guy and former Blue Grass Boy from 67-69 timeframe, with great stories about the man himself Bill Monroe. #I'll throw up a few pics Roland White Workshop Pics I took on my cell phone. #This was at the Grant Street Inn, which is a wonderful little bed and breakfast located on 7th and Grant. #The Grant Street Inn (http://www.grantstreetinn.com). #Took some video clips too, but they are pretty low quality. #

Cool photos! I attended one of Roland's workshops several years ago - I really enjoyed it.
Do you know what kind of mandolin the young lady is playing?

I forgot what it was called. It was pretty fancy, with an open scroll and narrow headstock. Maybe someone else can chime in that remembers?

It's a Clegg. Made by Scott Clegg out of Sistersville, West Virginia.

that's me in the pic. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

it's made by scott clegg in sistersville wv. he has a different view of f body mandos - doesn't want to make one like everyone else's. his typical headstock looks more like a rock guitar, lol.

Brady, does this mean you were at the workshop? Now I am really upset I missed it. Had intended on going but my health had some other ideas. I feel really bad because Jim puts on such great seminars there and I am always bugging him about having more, then I go and miss one when he does have it.

I really wanted to go to this workshop but it wasn't in the cards as there actually was no room at the inn, literally! I'm glad to hear it was so good though and will try for the next one, thanks for sharing the photos.

I must ask what the purple looking ribbon is around the top of Roland's MM headstock? Looks like a brocolli rubber band. Is it doing something we need to know about?
I see a few nice looking Eastmans in there too.

Looks like a "Band together for Butch" bracelet to me.

It was a Band Together for Butch band.

Thanks to everyone who came out. Roland called me a few days ago and said he enjoyed it as well and hopes to come and do it again in a couple years.
