F-5 builder

New to the Cafe Discussion Board and loving the opportunity to read and discuss. I recently purchased a 1995 Gibson F-5 Fern. Its a Montana mandolin and I can't read the signature of the builder (handwriting issues). Is there a list of Gibson mandolin builders of that time listed anywhere? I will see if my teenage daughter can help me with that (technologically challenged). Do you know of a serial number search engine out there where you just put the number in and it gives you information?
