Having sold some equipment and a great guitar I was looking for a builder who could build me a nice F5 at a reasonable price & in my price range. My buddy Bill James mentioned to me Skip of Grey Eagle mandolins & after talking with skip and hearing some of his mandos I was impressed. the thing that sealed it was Talking to Ray Lagere who owns a Nugget and is quite a mando/fiddle player himself.
Ray said his 'Grey Eagle' is the only mando that came close to his Nugget in tone etc & he's having another one built, so that sealed the deal for me. There's some clips of the Grey Eagle mandolins on You Tube. I've asked Skip to post some pics of my mando during construction etc. in a month or so.
