Brian Woods of Agape Mandolins is building me a F-5. The mandolin will not be bound at all. Can you fellas on the board give me any ideas on what color to go with? Other than an F-9 what types of examples are there to look at?
Has any one ever seen a sunburst unbound mando before what did it look like?
Thanks in advance

i definately think a deep cherry color for the outsides, fading to an orange/yellow center. Sides: same deep cherry as top, fading darker at waist of mando. repeat front on back. This with a quilted maple back and sides would be dazzling!
While not unbound, the Colling MF burst sure looks beautiful to me! With the tortise binding it sure comes close to looking unbound.

I don't think the fact that the mando is unbound should deter you from finishing it anyway you'd like!

There ya go!
Binding is like underlining a sentence.
