A few years ago there was a soldier wanting a mandolin. A very generous dealer donated a good mandolin. It was on this forum. I'm ashamed to say I don't remember the name of the dealer. Anyone remember that? I made up my mind I'd buy a mandolin from him if I ever bought another one. Now I'm looking for another one.

More important, anyone know what became of that soldier?

Thanks
Bob

I wonder. Good for that dealer by the way, that's a really cool thing to do.

On a similar note, I know there is a site now (I forget the name though) through which anyone can donate instruments, strings, etc. to persons in the armed forces currently overseas, and I think that's awesome. Talk about a situation where some good music would do you good, there's one. I've been meaning to donate a few things myself that have been laying around, and now I've been reminded.

Taken one step further, believe this is the thread (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST&f=12&t=32422).

Agreed, first class all the way. Got my 615 from him BTW.
