Inlay on arm-rests

Just for fun, I am having Steve of Siren Music do several arm-rests for me for a Gibson Master Model (flowerpot inlay on headstock) and a Gilchrist (fern inlay on headstock. The arm-rest wiil be ebony. The design question is what inlay design would not be tacky and would be consistent with the instrument. Does anyone have any thoughts on this useless but fun project that I am actually undertaking? Rich Michaud

Hi Rich,

My gut feeling is that a vine inlay would go with either of those headstock patterns. You've got pseudo flowers on one and a vine-looking pattern on the other. You might as well stay with an organic look.
