I'm working on a tune off of a lyrics/chords sheet. It is guitar tab and notes to use Capo on 1.
The chords listed are C, G, F. Since I'm not a guitar player... with the Capo 1 noted, is this really a C,G,F that I would play on the mandolin?

If it says to capo at the 1st fret on the guitar and play C, F, G shapes the chords will actually sound C#, F#, G# - those are the chords you would play on the mando (or, if you wanted to use open shapes you could capo the mando at the 1st fret and play C, F, G too).

I meant nothing negative about the capo..I do have one .Just me being thick skulled at times I didn't realize that I could use my finger as one #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Imagine the light going off in my head when I finally realized a barred A chord was simply a G chord moved up two frets with an index finger capo http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
