Visited this site for the first time and its great! (I don't remember seeing mention of this before,so forgive me if it's old news.) http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp Has archived videos of live shows with such luminaries as Thile/Marshall; Tim O'brien; Tom ROzum Laurie Lewis; Norman Blake; etc http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Strange... I logged onto the siute and clicked on the Thile/Marshall video and so far all I have seen is over 8 minutes of warming up the audience. I finally shut it off. Not sure why they needed to do that. Waste of bandwidth IMHO.

Agreed, but when they finally get around to playing, it really cooks.

Depending on your computer setup, if you do a "Save As" on the show you want, download it to your computer and open it up there, rather than playing it off the site, you can use Windows Media Player to "skip ahead" to the good parts and not have to watch all the non-music stuff. There is some great stuff on that site, but I find Michael Jonathon, the Woodsongs host, to be really annoying.

yep, another thanks here. Download & save to hard drive first, thats the way to go. Then, here at work, I can start/stop it between tasks..haha.
This is very good stuff for a southern boy who would never get a chance to see these folks around here. Watching DoyleL right now... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

It's a great Radio/web cam Show for us, Bluegrass fans around the world : We can see amazing music played by Thile, Marshall, Sutton, O'Connor, Blue Highway, J.D.Crowe & New South, Sam Bush Band, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, Del Mc Coury Band, and so many others...
I've downloaded a lot, and then, I disagree with this statement:

"There is some great stuff on that site, but I find Michael Jonathon, the Woodsongs host, to be really annoying."[I]

Music listening was my first goal, but I think Michael Jonathon is doing a real good "journalist" job with his guests. (Questions & Bluegrass general knowledge)
Thanks to you all, mandolin lovers.

I've found this on the site :

Folksinger Michael Johnathon started WOODSONGS five years ago in a small recording studio with just twelve people in the audience and only one small station airing the program.

So, he's the Host...

I also give Michael Jonathan thumbs-up for bringing such a great radio show with live, downloadable shows to the web for our enjoyment. Believe me, I've enjoyed hours of video that I wouldn't get a chance to see normally. Way to go http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif
