View Full Version : New gibson
Here's the pup we picked up today. He's a Weimaraner, 6 weeks old tomorrow. Very clingy and needy so far, in contrast to our other dog he seems to like me better. Not that I'm complaining.
sleeps a lot, and makes a lot of noise
somewhat irresistable though
Mandolin content: My wife and son decided he should be named "Gibson".
I thought I better post this, otherwise Scott would keep it in is back pocket to make fun of me down the road.

Great photos.
BTW I seem to recall a photo or two of the Tichenor's dog showing up around here somewhere.

In this case I'm not sure how much of a growl you want it to have!
That dog is awesome!
This is what he'll look like when he's a little older. So many mandolins lying around the place they seem to get in the way of the poor old dogs

Two generations.. the "Snakehead" dog is the large one now

Does he have a good Bark? The chops look pretty good on him.

Dan, I noticed that Gibson's nails look really short and/or look like they're positioned way up the "toe". Figured it was due to being so young but I noticed that Snakehead's seem to be very similar and don't seem to touch the ground.
Is this a trait of the breed? If I trimmed my dogs nails that short there'd be a bloody mess. Nice greyburst BTW.
Yes they are quite short. I'm not sure how they managed that but he's in no distress (we only picked him up yesterday). Well he sure can howl at the moon, the house cage, various chairs, his own legs, etc. Not too clear on the whole "nighttime for sleeping" thing yet

Dan,
An acquaintance of mine in Kalamazoo, MI - and who knows a lot of the luthiers who once worked for Gibson when they were IN Kalamazoo - has a little poodle he named 'Gibson.'
Your Weimaramer looks much more deserving of the name 'Gibson' than a curly, white miniature poodle! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

cool dog! I've always liked the Weimeramer's ever since I picked up that book of posed shots that artist did years ago when she posed the doggies in all kinds of positions and dressed them up in clothes.
I swear I'm not crazy, has anyone else seen that?
And I like Gibson better than Eastman for a name! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yeah, I'll verify your story, Jim.
Cute dog(s), Dan.
I hope this doen't turn into a Gibson-bashing thread. The workmanship looks pretty good on this one!

I think you are talking about the William Wegman photographs.
