Can anyone confirm whether any of the Eagles were members of Linda Ronstadt's Stone Poneys?

From an online interview quoting Joe Walsh:
Question: Hey, Joe did you know of the members of the Eagles when they were in the Stone Ponys and how did you actually end up joining the band.

JoeW Live: Actually- Stone Ponies were before Henley, Frey, and Meisner played with her live. I joined later than that- the Eagles were together during Barnstorm. I jointed after Barnstorm- their 5th album.

Blurbs about the Poney's third album at Amazon say they played on it but were not offial Poneys.

The Eagles were back up guys for Linda in her early years after the stone ponies broke up. In the early 70's L.A. was the mecca for studio talent. It was home to a small group of great folks like Kenny Edwards, Karla Bonoff, Russell Kunkel, James Taylor, Andrew Gold, Peter Asher, The Eagles, Carole King, Danny Kootch, Dan Dugmore, J.D. Souther, Tim Schmit. All these folks were on many Lp,s of the time. They all helped each other. Bonnie Raitt for example. Check on the back of Lindas greatest LP and you will see a few Eagles there!

I can remember, in what would have been about 1970, seeing two guys that did an acoustical set at Doug Weston's Troubadour (Santa Monica and Doheney) in Los Angeles, and being "just knocked out" they called themselves "Longbranch Pennywhistle"

Those two guys were Glenn Frey and J.D. Souther and we now know the rest of the story....

I'm reading an interesting book right now called Hotel California that's all about that scene. If you like that era and music, I would highly recommend it. Some nice behing-the-scenes perspectives in there.
