To honor a request and to continue on my Hendrix theme, here is Jimi Hendrix's "Angel" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkcY9EbZoJA) for your viewing and listening pleasure. A beautiful tune in the key of F.

I like Spanish Castle Magic too. The song has an energy to it.
As far as tabs, don't have any. And, I doubt I'll tab it out, cause there is just way too much in there. It isn't like tabbing out a straight 8th note fiddle tune. My brain is too tiny to do the computation http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Sweet. I love the use of reverb on an F2! Funny and ecclectic. Jim, you the rockinest mando player in over y'alls, meant with greatest respect. If you ever posted these as MP3s I would have them on my i-pod in a heartbeat.

Very cool and the overalls make it work. I think the use of overalls in popular music is largely overlooked by many.

No to over-state the obvious, but We all know that Dexy's Midnight Runners started it all.

Don't tempt me! #Having played guitar in bands covering Skynyrd material, I know my way around a Skynyrd tune or two (or 20). #
Actually the southern rock opus that I'd prefer to work up on mandolin is the Outlaws "Green Grass and Hide Tides." #I was really saddened to learn that band leader Hughie Thomasson (and later Skynyrd guitarist) died in September of this year. #A huge loss. #Big influence on my guitar playing (as is Gary Rossington and Allen Collins) though I don't sound anything like him.

Jim,your arrangements of Angel and Spanish Castle Magic are beautiful. I've yet to hear anybody else take a Hendrix tune, adapt it to mandolin and be totally convincing with the end result. Excellent!!!

"Green Grass and High Tides" now that is a tune. Would really love to hear that on mandolin and not to mentioned a great reminder of Hughie Thomasson.
Blasted out your version of "Voodoo Child" from your you tube channel at work last week at lunch time, for the next two day that song was stuck in everyones head.
Love all the mandolin stuff your doing,if you ever get all this written down and put in a book, I will be first in line.

Excellent Jim! The slight reverb with the oval hole has a great Strat-like tone. Who'd have thunk it?
