Hello again, folks!
Does anyone know where I can find to download or to at least listen to the tune, "Golden Slippers" ? I was sent a set list last night of the songs that we'll be playing at a benefit show this evening along with another band that will be including this tune and I'm not that fimiliar with how it goes. We're kind of combinding two bands for this event. This is one of the songs I'll need to know to play with them.
Any help with this at a last minute notice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all!

iTunes, Get a version from Bryan Bowers', "The view from Home". I think Sam Bush plays the mando part.
Nice.

There is also a great version on the "Front Porch" CD. #Sam Bush is on the mandolin with a cast of stellar others -- like Tony Rice? #I think it might be one of the Cracker Barrel CD's -- check your nearest Cracker Barrel restruant.

Here's (http://www.stephen-foster-songs.de/Amsong35.htm) a link with an MP3 of a piano instrumental of the tune. Simple, rousing, great harmony. Good luck learning it in a day (been there, done that).

Here's #nice slow version -- not fancy but nice clean mandolin picking -- just the basic melody -- the group is the "Gray Sky Girls" -- maybe a take off on the "Blue Sky Boys"? Or maybe they are just from Dixie?
Nice harmonies!

To All who had replied to my much needed info I say, "Thank You!" I checked mostly all of your suggestions from what I could pull up on line. I had also did a search on YouTube and had pulled up several fiddle versions along with a few banjo and mandolin versions as well. I had an idea of the second half of the song after someone had reminded me that years ago, "Golden Grahams' Cereal" had did a TV commercial using that very tune. Anyone else remember seeing it? That part "clicked" but the first half had me worried.
End result... it turned out fine!
Thanks again everyone! #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif
