I am not so much 'stumped' by this number, just wondering what others who have tried it do on the opening salvo. It's a modified roll over chord positions A (6-2-0) and D (7-4-0), methink.

Do you use all downstrokes for the first 8 measures, down-up or the Jesse down-up-up? Whatever he does, it's very clean and rocking.

Jesse d-u-u, but I think I do that more because of habit. This one isn't in my regular repertoire, but I enjoy playing it when I am pickin to the CD. It requires several cups of coffee for me to hang with the bibester.

Thanks, Max. That number and his Flying High are causing some consternation, in a good way http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

This is not related to the tune, exactly, but that name, "Stumptown" is interesting. There are a whole bunch of places, out here in the west (like in Seattle and Portland, for starters) with names or references to a Stumptown (like the "Stumptown Cafe"). I can well imagine many places looking like "Stumptowns" after the first loggers went through that country.

Seems like half the new "towns" popping up out here now could be called "Stripmall City" or "Bigbox Town," or some such.

Definitely NOT trying to stir up controversy here, just an observation. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
