String height first fret

When you depress your string at the third fret how much space is at the first fret between the string . A doubled up business card ??

The string should just clear the first fret. A doubled business card would indicate extremely high nut height, a single business card would indicate way too high. If you hold the string down at the third fret and tap on it with a fingertip at the first fret, you should her it "ping" against the first fret but barely see it move.
