I am a bit late passing on the news (sorry)#but I see there is a sale on the faux tortoise picks of the Red Bear Trading Company. #

These are the real deal, I use them, myself. #They are identical in feel,tone, and workability to the BEST of real Hawksbill turtle shell.
Natural turtle shell varies a lot and some breaks easily and wears down fast, while better shell, well, is better.
They are beveled and polished and I love the speed bevel the very best for guitar, for mandolin, I get regular bevel.
These are NOT the the old Tor-tise version #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif #that looked great but did not sound like the real deal (hey, it was an honest first try, but no cigar!) #
They wear exceptionally well for both mandolin pickers #and guitar pickers. #They come in three colors : tortoise (these might be confiscated at the airport they look so real and have heard tales of this happening), clown barf (cool!) and now a new color (coral marble). #
