I am using Sam Bush Gibson strings on my mando.
All the strings have a lot of depth except the E string. It is a 11 guage. Would a different string sound much different or should there be adjustments made to the bridge. Any help is appreciated. I feel I really have to beat on the E string to get much volume etc. Is that normal.
Also Do any of you use the Audio technica PRO 70? Where to you clip it to the mando?

Re: the mic, the clip that it comes with is not made for mandolins,
step one: toss it.
then you make a mount of your own to place the mic near the soundhole.

a bit of heavy wire wrapped around the mic, could bend in such a way as to point the sensitivity as per the pattern, in the best
focused direction.

actually, of course, you wrap the wire around something the same size as the mic, not the mic itself, to form the shape.

You could try .011.5" (.279mm) gauge strings for a little more oomph....your bridge should be fine as is.
