Spent a morning in Buzzy's shop over the weekend, first time since he moved from Albany. Nice shop, good inventory. He had no Loar, but did have a nice Collings F. I put it through its paces and have to say it's a great mandolin, he had it out for 7200.
Yes nice store; I was just there. I gotta say I was not impressed with the Collings to the tune of 7k. That scroll thing again driving up the price. I'd buy an MT-2 and save the cash.
It did have some nice power on the E string but I think it was lacking some ommph on the lower strings.
The Gibson F5G next to it had that typical warm and woody Gibson sound but did not have as much tonal complexity as the Collings. But I can see where that new Gibson sound would appeal to alot of people; I'm not sure it would cut as much as the Collings in a band. Neither of them would be thought of as banjo killers me thinks.
Just my .02 and I'm far from an expert.
But it is a nice store and well worth a visit.

How far off of Route 4 is it?
I haven't been to Teaneck since right before the 1989 riots. The next time I'm up there, I'll be sure to drop in for a visit http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

It's on Cedar Lane in Teaneck. Take the Queen Anne Road exit off Rte. 4 West.
I thought the Collings beat the F5-G hands down.
Now I'll have to stop there to hear these.

Buzzy is great! Talk to him, he has a treasure trove of experience with instruments and musicians.
His specialty is vintage instruments, both acoustic and electric. He keeps a good stock of newer ones as well, though more guitars than mandolins. His shop always provides something interesting to play, and none of the pomp and circumstance BS you sometimes get at Mandolin Bros.
Closed on Saturdays!
Last time I was there a couple of years ago he had a nice family of
F4/mandola/mandocello/HarpGuitar. They also had a few 30's Nationals and Dobros.
